I am trying to update to windows 8.1. I have tried this before and it has always failed and had to revert to windows 8. This time it got to setting up and then said restarting. Then the screen went black but the fans and lights are still on, the lights on my keyboard and mouse turned off though. After a good 15-20 minutes i tried to press the reset button. Nothing. Then the power button. Nothing. So im wondering if i should force power off or do something else, all help is appreciated.

pull the gpu and one ram stick...see if the system will post wiith onboard video. if it an asus or asrock mb look at the fault led. see if any are on hard. or the de debug has stop at a post code. the last issue can be power supply or mb failure with out another power supply to test or volt meter to read the outputs.

Power supply is very new so probably not it, gpu is new but ill try pulling it anyway, i only have one stick of ram and no spares so i cant do that i did put an optical drive in earlier today so ill pull that.
