[SOLVED] Windows 8.1 upgrade

Hello guys i want to upgrade my pc to run on windows 8.1 from windows 7 ultimate on 64 bit and it s obvious that i have the right drivers for 7
What i need to do before and where i can download windows 8.1 ?

Windows 8 and 8.1 was not a free upgrade from 7.

You could likely still upgrade to 10 for free(to my knowledge this is still working).

To upgrade to 8.1 you'd need to buy an upgrade key and either get a version that comes with the media or buy a retail key and use that key to download the install from Microsoft.

Windows 8.1 won't be a free upgrade. You'll need to purchase a key and you can download the ISO from Microsoft and use the USB Media Creation tool, also from Microsoft.

Ok well i searched for windows 8.1 and i found electronic license and i guess it s an actuvation code

Download Windows 8.1 ISO file from Microsoft.

Use rufus to create installation media using USB flash drive.

For upgrade you can run installation from within windows 7.
For clean install - boot from windows installation media and install.
