Assuming you have a working vhs player. a USB video capture device would work. $10 and up.

also see if a friend has a dvd recorder. looks like a small vhs player with one or two dvd drives that has standard video inputs. drop a dvd disk in and hit record then hit play on the vhs and then wait till the video on the vhs is done then hit stop.
