I currently have Windows 8.1 and am thinking about going to windows 10.

My PC is mainly for gaming and I use movie maker (which does not work in windows 10) every once in a while.

I heard that Windows 10 is extremely unstable as of now and I want to know if I should upgrade or wait. I got a windows 10 product key for free so the free upgrade only being one year is not a problem.

I have 2 gtx 980's in sli and also heard that the NVIDIA drivers for windows 10 are really bad.

I don't really care about windows 10's features and I don't mind the windows 8 start menu.

Should I upgrade or wait until the bugs get ironed out?

THANKS!

Windows 10 works fine. I'm not saying that there are programs that won't be compatible. But for the most part I've been using it since day 1 and it's fine. Windows 10 and windows 8.1 are virtually identical. So there should be no problems with the vast majority of software. My nvidia drivers haven't had any problems but if you can post any links to articles I'd like to read them. (not trying to be combative..I really would like to read)

As a guy who tried the windows 10 beta, went back to 7, tried the official release of windows 10, and then went back let me tell you that nothing is special about 10. It's about as fast, if not slower than previous operating systems. Opening certain settings takes way too long (windows 7 and 8 they open near instant), tablet and spy features need to be turned off and disabled which not only requires option settings but also going through services, built-in apps are a waste of space and microsoft shoves the app store down your throat (as in it's always running and sharing your data), customization options are severely limited, ect. I could write an essay but you get the point.

No reason to upgrade to windows 10 unless Microsoft is holding a gun to your head.

AFAIK there are many issues regarding display driver (Crimson for AMD & Nvidia drivers) in Windows 10. It's wise to wait for stable drivers release before upgrading to Windows 10.

P.S: I'm also experiencing graphical glitch (black square flickering) on Windows 10 using AMD Radeon, rolled back to Windows 8.1 and the glitch disappear.
