Windows 8 64 bit upgrade

Not sure if this is in the right catagory but maybe you guys could help me out anyway.

I have a Dell Optiplex 740 with an Intel Core Duo 6600 processor currently running 32 bit windows 7. I have searched the forums and have seen that the general consensus is that this processor should be able to handle 64 bit but I would like to know for definite if this is the case and i can use 64 bit windows 8 with it.

For sure your processor is 64 bit but you cannot upgrade 32 to 64 bit you will have to to a fresh OS install.

You have to buy the win8 64-bit full version not the upgrade version.

Use your current key to go to Windows 7 64bit then upgrade to windows 8 from there.
