Windows 8 automatically Windows 8.1?

I am building my PC and wondering if I buy Windows 8 will it be able to upgarde to 8.1 or could I just buy windows 8.1?

I highly recommend buying windows 8.1 instead of 8. And yes, even if you bought windows 8 you have a free upgrade to 8.1

Only reason I don't recommend buying 8 is because I've come across issues when upgrading from 8 to 8.1.

I am pretty sure you can upgrade to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8 free of charge, but for stability and just to make sure nothing goes wrong, I would buy Windows 8.1 just in case. Also, you would have to do it each time you installed Windows.

If you're buying new, just buy 8.1. The update from 8 to 8.1 is free, but there is no reason to not get the 8.1 install.
