Hi
I have three laptop systems that need to have some kind of data encryption. I was looking at BitLocker Drive Encryption, since all the laptops have Windows 8 Pro and BitLocker comes with the edition.
I have a few questions about Windows 8 BitLocker though:
1) How can I make sure that BitLocker is using AES-256 bit encryption?
2) Are there are known "backdoors" or flaws to BitLocker encryption when a system is either hibernated or completely powered off?
3) Can I rely on BitLocker to protect my files without worrying that the encryption could be easily bypassed?
4) Is the BitLocker encryption just as safe as Truecrypt encryption? Does it matter or do they provide equal level of security that could last for millions of years with a long password?
