Windows 8 BSOD WatchDog_Timeout_Error

Hello Community, I'm having a problem on my windows 8 computer where I am getting a BSOD every time I log in. It will let me use the computer for a few minutes than gives me the above error. This didn't happen until the latest windows 8 update yesterday worked perfectly fine. If anyone has help to offer that would be much appreciated. Also I'm running Ryzen 5 on windows 8 if that helps.

GPU: R9 380 XFX edition
RAM: G skill Floris 8 GB
Motherboard: B350

Are you using AVG for anti virus protection? WatchDog is commonly associated with AVG prechecks on boot. If it becomes corrupted it can cause those sorts of issues. If you do have AVG. Try uninstalling it (preferably with the AVG remover tool) and reboot your PC. See if the issue continues.

I was having this issue from installing an older version of Windows 10 on a Ryzen 7 1700x machine I newly built. Had to do a fresh install with an up-to-date OS created with the Windows Media Tool to solve my issue. Best of luck!

No, I'm using Avira Antivirus had to rollback to a system restore and disable updates just so I can use my computer now I can't update.

I might give it a shot if nothing works, I will have to do a factory reset. That for me is last resort though.

Fresh install will solve a LOT of issues, but it should be a last resort. If the issue is because a Windows update messed you up, a fresh install will not help because as soon as it reinstall it goes through the update process and eventually hits the one that caused the crashing and put it right back where you started!

I would create a restore point if the PC seems stable. Uninstall any antivirus software, reboot, and try to update. If you get crashes, use your restore point and give Microsoft a month to get their act together and then try Windows update. Sometimes fresh patches are a complete disaster. I've seen networks of 30+ computers completely decimated by an automatic Windows update.

Sorry for the late reply, but this so far would probably be the best outcome everything I tried doesn't work even poking around in performance monitor still wasn't able to find the problem, so I created a restore point will see if Microsoft will make a working version in the future. Thanks for your help everybody.
