I am trying to resolve a slow boot issue on my Dads computer with a Sandisk SSD and a MSI 970a-g43 motherboard. For some reason it doesn't start very quickly. I was able to get it to start quickly one time but haven't been able to since. I haven't clocked it but it takes at least 1:30 - 2 minutes to get from button press to the initial wallpaper before loging on. Once I get logged on its very snappy.
Here's what I've checked:
Bios settings - I confirmed that SATA is set to ACHI and not IDE. I've also tried restoring defaults and only changing the SATA configuration. I've tried turning fast boot and MSI fast boot on and no go
Drivers - I have installed the chipset drivers directly from AMD and the other drivers from MSI. ( seemed to do the trick the first time I got it to work).
Clean installs - I've performed two clean installs but still no luck.
Anything I might be missing?
