So I'll be heading to the computer store to figure it out there too, but I'm asking here anyways; my computer was installing an update to 8.1 yesterday and in the middle of installation it got shut off by accident. I've attempted to reboot it up again but now thr monitor doesn't even display anything, the dcs drive sounds like it spools up fine but then shuts off and then spools up again. Yesterday I was getting a memory error bios code and switched my memory stick around on the other slots. I'm led to believe it could be that the memory is corrupted as I've had issues before.

Computer is an hp pavilion p7-1519c with an upgraded power supply and a ati Radeon 7700 series (I think, I can't recall what it is exactly.

Anyways, Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

The problem is that the computer isn't responding to anything, the monitor doesn't display anything.
I'm creating a HP boot diagnostics from a USB that I have. Installing Windows 8 ontop sounds like a good idea, but the OS came with the computer and I didn't get a boot CD or anything. Is there somewhere I could download the install onto a CD and then try booting from there?

However, as I said the computer doesn't seem to respond to anything. Though last night I did get a BIOS code indicating a memory problem, after moving the card to another slot the code went away, but that was about it.
