Windows 8 versus windows 7

Hi I have been using windows 7 since it came out and now I am thinking of upgrading to windows 8.
However some of my friends insisted on keeping windows 7.
Anyone have a pros and cons e.g. memory usage?

Windows 8 was designed for touch screen devices so it's layout is very different. You will find it difficult to use at first. Personally I stuck with Win7
