Everytime i try to clean install windows 8 to my HDD i get a message which states
'Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.'

I do not know how to get around this...

I have a asrock xtreme 3 mobo and a WD harddrive

Some motherboards have multiple SATA controllers (one per each color), and some may not be initially bootable due to a lack of drivers.

Try another color of SATA controller (just move the SATA data cable on the motherboard), preferably the Intel one if it exists.

It may be another issue, as said make sure AHCI is selected for that SATA controller if possible. There are so many different BIOS configurations it's hard to give exact recommendations.
