I have an Alienware aurora and i recently upgraded to windows 8 pro. It has finished downloading and installing and it did a reboot. When it tried to reboot, it got stuck at a point where the alienware logo is in the background and there is a circle of dots that go on infinitely. Ive tried a forced reboot, and i was taken to a screen where i could choose to boot into windows 7, windows 8 , or windows setup. Trying to boot into windows 8 sends it into the same screen for a couple minutes then a reboot. Tying to boot into windows setup just leaves it at an infinite loop of the start up screen.
I have not tried booting to Windows 7.
