Windows 98 Start Menu Glitch?

Man, multiple threads I've made on here asking about getting the same computer working, but finally it boots Windows 98 happily and works wonderfully. But there is a weird quirk it has with the start menu.

Clicking on the desktop (Normal left click on the desktop, not clicking an icon) brings up the start menu like the context menu! Very odd bug but I can't complain, as it's great to have this computer running.

Are you sure you can move the mouse pointer around the desktop? It seems like it's struck in lower-left corner, with only buttons working.

Yes, I can move the mouse just fine and click on other icons/items with no problem. Only clicking on the desktop comes up with the start menu.
