Windows automatically scans the D Drive for some reason

When I turn on my computer, after it boots up, and windows starts, it wants to scan D for problems.
I'll restart my computer later and copy down exactly what it says.

Go Start then Run and into the Open box, type chkntfs /x d: then hit Enter and you shouldn't see the message again.

It might be best to make sure that the disk check has run properly and outside of the Windows GUI so if you have an XP CD, run that and click on R for Repair when prompted and type chkdsk /r D: (including the spaces) at the Command Prompt and pressing Enter.
