So a friend of mine gave me his hp laptop to fix, basically I have no idea what happened to it, he just said it doesn't work.
When I turn it on it seems like there are a few white lines on the HP boot screen and then after that a bunch of white dots, and then when It loads windows, you see the screen with the bar moving but after 2-3 minutes the screen is black and nothing happens and then a blue screen comes up and the words are faded somewhat and distorted, I believe it is a gpu issue or driver?
I have already tried start up restore and it still doesn't work, would using a recovery disk do any different? Thing is there are some important documents on the hard drive still and I would not like to have to do a restore because it would all get lost right?
