my pc is currently experiencing boot loop and crashing issues. it opens into a screen saying "preparing automatic repair" it then freezes, crashes and attempts to do it again. i took the computer to a repair shop, they told me it was th motherboard but having bought that the issue still occcurs. i felt it may be windows however i cannot boot into a windows installer to reinstall it.

thanks

If that happened after a Windows Update....

When you see 'Preparing Automatic Repair' power off by holding Power button for 3 seconds. You might need to do it 3 times for the system to enter Advanced Startup Options menu.
When you see 'Automatic Repair your PC did not start correctly' hit the 'Advanced option' button.
Click 'Troubleshoot' on the screen that appears.
Click 'Advanced Options'
On the 'Advanced options' screen click on 'Command Prompt (Use the Command Prompt for advanced troubleshooting).'
Type 'bcdedit /set {default} safeboot minimal' and hit Enter on keyboard.
Close the Command Prompt and choose 'Continue' on the next screen.
After your PC restarts, Windows 10 will automatically go into Safe Mode.
Go to the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder and delete all the files and folders inside.
restart your computer

What type of computer do you have?
Can you get into the BIOS ?
Do you have important files or it can be reset?

I have an
i5 6600k
Gta 1060
ASUS maximus viii hero motherboard
Corsair vs 550 psu
1tb hdd and 240gb ssd

If I have to I have no problem resetting the pc however my attempts to do this have always crashed. Even an attempt to fresh install windows crash while loading the installer

I can get onto the bios

Did you get any error message when it crashes when trying to install Windows 10?
That looks like a disc or RAM issue.
Just leave one stick of RAM and the disc where you are installing Windows. Disconnect any other devices.
Reset BIOS to default settings and try to install Windows 10 again.
I suggest creating a USB Windows 10 installation media from Microsoft website.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

i dont get an error message when installing windows however when trying to boot into the windows currently installed i get a "machine check exception"

when installing windows i have tried creating an iso on two seperate thumbdrives with the same result.
i have only got one stick of ram so cant change stick however when i took it to a hardware place they said they verified the ram was working so i dont think it is that.

realistically im not sure if its something i can test myself and might just have to take it back to a hardware shop, thanks for the help tho

System temperatures are normal and how do I do memtest is it something I can do without access to anything other than bios

I can’t really test the ssd tho that was my first thought cos I don’t have anywhere to test it in
