When I power on my computer, everything starts up fine but theres no video signal at all (not even the bios process is shown). All fans power on normally, including gpu. I know that it successfully boots into windows as my speakers play the welcome tone. Pressing the power button also makes it shutdown properly with the shutdown tone.

My system is a 2 year old rig running with the following specs:

Mobo: asus p8p67 deluxe
gpu: 560ti 2gb msi twin frozer
cpu: 2500k @ 3.3ghz
PSU: Corsair AX750
Ram: corsair vengence 4gb x2
crucial ssd (boot) + WD black (data)

No over clocking was ever performed. The problem occurred suddenly after 2 years. No hardware or major software changes were made recently. I received no BSODs or prior hints to the problem.

I managed to get the monitor to get a signal by unplugging all the wires and reconnecting them. Following that I verified with the WD diagnostic tool that my drives arent to blame. CPU and GPU temps are as per normal. I performed a few restarts without problems, then suddenly the problem came again (following a restart).

Anyone here can give any advice please!!!

Solution
That sounds like a simple cable problem, if all it took to get the signal back was a temporary cable unplug. Have you tried using a different DVI cable?

Hi thanks for your reply!! :)

I have 2 monitors running off my gpu, via the mini-HDMI and the DVI.

My DVI output in converted to VGA via an adaptor as that monitor is very old and doesnt even support DVI. My mini-HDMI is connected to my main 1080p monitor which interestingly doesnt have DVI input, only HDMI and VGA.

Anyway.. Both monitors doesnt have any signal, seen when I unplug individual monitors to see if the other will work. Thus I dont think it would be such a coincidence that both cables/monitors fail simultaneously?

I have removed one ram module and it starts perfectly fine now. Im running memtest 86, results still pending, will update when it comes out. But given how my com became fine before suddenly getting problematic, I doubt its the end of my troubles..

Update: Passed all memtest. Swapped ram modules and changed ram slots. Everything seems fine. Even managed to fire up AC4 and raid a man o war. GPU and CPU temps are normal.

Will see if the problem rereoccurs

Hi this is an old problem and I found the solution quite some time ago but forgot to post here.

It turned out the card was loose on the pcie slot. A simple left right + downward force solved it.

While unplugging the wires, I probably moved the card thus unintentionally fixing it. Red herring.

Case closed and thanks to all for your help.
