Windows broken after update! Please help!

Hi everyone,

I downloaded and installed 50 updates for windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. after they'd installed it wanted to reboot so I let it and now all it does is get stuck on the 'starting windows' screen when I press start windows normally, if I press launch windows repair it comes up with a hardware error and that I need the disk which I no longer have.

Any help is appreciated!

Ah, don't you just love Microsoft's automatic updates feature -- not! I always disable it, always have & always will.

It sounds like it's prompting you to re-install Windows. If you have a genuine Product Key you can download the ISO from here to make your own installation DVD: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery
