Windows can be such a pain!

So when I first booted up windows i used the product key , and then when it's the system is all configed it tells me to activate windows so i go to try that and evertime I go to do it it says invalid key when I purchased at best buy , plz help!

If it windows 7 download all of the windows updates. Microsoft put in a tool that checks if your windows is vailid. It in one of the windows seven updates.
If this is windows 8 call Microsoft. With some installs of windows eight the Oem key can only be used once. If you reinstall windows eight the Oem number will take but you get that error when registering windows if the Oem number been used.

Make sure you type the activation code as it is presented to you.
If the letters are in caps or lowercase they must be typed the same into the box where windows asks for the valid key. You also have to include the dashes between the numbers and letters otherwise the key will come back as invalid.

Well the one i have does this where I can't put lower case just capitals and it Automatically puts those dashes in for me.
