Question Windows cannot finish installing after reset

Hello everyone,

I recently went and reset windows 10 on my laptop; however, after doing so I am met with two errors:

1. something about unattended parcel and when I click ok it leads to this second error
2. windows could not finish install restart to finish

My laptop was plugged in the whole time and was in no way interrupted during the reset. I've seen solutions that tell me to press shift + f10 but it doesn't work for me.

If I had known I wouldn't have reset. My laptop was running slow and wanted it to perform better for school work/ dad usage.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you please try to Power Reset Your Laptop and see if it helps?

You may also want to try fresh install if power resetting doesn't work, and, of course, if there's no important data in your C:\ drive, Documents folder, or on the Desktop.

I would be inclined to do a completely clean reinstall, presuming you were doing either a Reset with "keep nothing" or have a backup of your user data files you can restore.

I would do a clean install as suggested but if there is anything on laptop you want to rescue, try this:

boot from installer
on screen after languages, choose repair this pc, not install.
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose command prompt
type notepad and press enter
in notepad, select file>open
Use file explorer to copy any files you need to save to USB or hdd

Thank you everyone! I installed windows using media creation tool on a usb drive and it booted to windows automatically. I appreciate the responses
