Hi,

I have windows 7 64 bit home premium. I have a gigabyte z77x ud5h motherboard. I wanted to restore my system cause I'm having some issues. So I put in the windows 7 disk and well I highlighted the c drive the ssd drive the one that has windows installed and it gives me an error saying Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR Partition table. On Efi systems windows can only be installed to gpt disks. Can you tell me what I have to turn on or turn off in the bios or in windows so I will not get this message anymore?

I would really appreciate it!!

Thanks so much!

Well see here is what I don't understand. Recently I bought and ssd drive and I unplugged all the other drives before installing the ssd as the main primary boot device the one that windows was being installed on and I was able to do it without changing anything in the bios. and I'm wondering why I don't have to change anything when it's a new ssd drive or even a hard drive for that matter, but, if the drive is on my computer and I want to reinstall windows by putting a fresh copy on there or formating the drive first then putting windows on there. In this case I have to change the dvd from uefi back to sata. I don't understand why. I have restored my system though and it seems faster and I'm wondering if it's because it's because sata is a faster transfer rate than uefi. Cause this happened once before where I got this error message, and what I did, cause I panic did not know what else to do.when I got this message I Deleted the c partition I created a new on from the windows 7 dvd and then formatted. It said that it was creating extra entries or partitions but it let me in Windows but windows was real slow. And I'm wondering if Sata is just faster overall than uefi. and that's why windows seems faster to me more zippy if you will. I went over windows with a fresh copy I did not do the format from the windows cd. I right away I went to disk cleanup in windows 7 and I deleted old windows installations so there would only be 1 copy of windows on my system which is what I wanted anyways.

Thanks
