I hope this is the right place for this thread.

Anyways, I've taken my new build:
AMD FX 4100
Asus M5A97
Corsair Vengeance 8gb (2x4gb) 1600
XFX Radeon HD 6870
Raid Max - 530ss
CM storm scout

and used my old Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250gb hard drive with windows 7 ultimate
and it gets through the post and bios fine, but I keep getting the message "windows cannot repair this computer automatically" and it won't boot. Any ideas to get it to get it to boot into windows?

my old computer was a dell inspiron 530s by the way.
thanks

Solution
You will need to reinstall your OS to the HDD. Just moving a previously installed OS on a HDD to another computer will not cut it. The license will probably be a Dell OEM which means you will need to buy a new license for your new Rig. Save a bit of money and get Win 7 Pro. If you own Win 7 ultimate retail then you can transfer the license but you will still need to reinstall the OS. If the license came with the Dell you bought then the license belongs to that Dell and therefore cannot be moved to another PC strictly legally speaking.
