Windows cannot repair this computer automatically

Hello guys.

I have no CD
The Pc is a HPxw4400 Workstation running XP.
It is a long story so I will just say I am getting the message Windows cannot repair ................

As I try to work things out I also get 'Startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically.

I tried to use Ultimate Boot CB, but can someone please give me some effective guidance.

Then you are out of luck..the CD will cost more than the computer is worth.

It is a long story

I've got time... spill it. make sure you include details, lost of details, like what happens when you turn on the machine, messages, blinking cursors, all that. If you were a mechanic and I called to say my car won't start, you'd need to know a few things like: got keys? battery dead, out of gas etc. We are no different.
