Windows can't be installed to my disk

I am in the process of building my first PC and am at the stage of installing windows. I get to the Where do you want to install windows page and i have 2 partitions, 1 is System and the other primary on both it says windows cannot be installed to Disk 0 Partition 1/2. Then I click show details and it says:

This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.

Before installing it I wiped the ssd(which is the only storage device connected) by formatting it from the command prompt etc. Could it be that I need some software on the disk to enable it to install windows or just a few files? Also I have not yet tried to see if the disk's controller is enabled.

Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

Delete the partitions in the Windows setup. Let the installer create the partitions it needs, it will also quick format it on it's own.

Thanks for the help it turns out I just needed to change the BIOS setting for gsata from ide to ahci and it worked, thanks anyway

question how do i turn on a controller in the bios?
