Recently I had to reset my Belkin Router to allow my television to connect to the internet. After the reset, all devices are able to connect again except for my Dell Windows computer. My computer will connect to internet anywhere else except for the internet at my house. When I try to connect at my house, it brings up the troubleshooter on my computer. The trouble shooter says that my Router does not have an access point. Does anyone know how to fix this and connect my computer to the internet?

With a bit more information someone might be able to help you.

Is your router wireless capable ?
If yes, is the wireless function enabled?
Does the computer have a WiFi device?
If yes, is it enabled?

You say it's a Belkin router... What's the model number?
Dell model number?
If the router is bad, stay away from Belkin. They make some of the coolest USB devices but lack in the networking dept. Save up some money and get a real router like an ASUS Wireless Router RT-AC68U 1900 and you'll never look back, they are worth every penny.

I am assuming it is a wireless connection between the dell machine and the router. I assume it sees the network.

My initial assumption, going off the time I worked a DSL helpline, is that windows is remembering the old password/settings for that wireless network and attempting to reuse them and failing. In which case clear the settings for that network name and retry.

If you reset the router, is the network name the same? Is the password the Same? is the dell computer setup for dynamic or static IP?, is any device on the network setup for static IP? or all dynamic?
