Windows crashes everytime i install nvidia or amd drivers

I'll try to keep this short and sweet,

My 7970 ghz edition came in yesterday, I played Battlefield 3 for about 20 minutes and i had to restart.

Ever since then i have not been able to launch windows even on my 660ti, as soon as i download any drivers for either of these cards, I cannot run windows.

I don't know what else to say really, I've had this built computer for about a month or so and it's been good up until i installed the 7970 drivers.

I reformatted my computer and i still have the same issues

800W Coolermaster psu
8GB ram


Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I would recommmend running a driver cleaner and reinstalling the 7970.

I have been using that but i still have the same problems even when i reformat.
