Dear All,

I want to turn off real-time protection feature but it doesn’t allow me to do so. Also tamper protection feature is greyed out due to “the setting is managed by your administrator”.

The staff that I tried to implement are the following:

1. Registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender I set the “Real Time Monitoring” value to 1

2. Group Policy Editor: Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender Antivirus > Real-time Protection. I enabled the turn off real-time protection.

3. Trying to disable it via Defender Control software.

4. Powershell commands. PowerShell Set-MpPreference -DisableRealtimeMonitoring 1

If you want to suggest anything else I would appreciate.

As I understand your post the computer in question is not yours - correct?

If you do not have admin rights then someone else has configured the computer to prevent such changes and tampering.

It all begs the question as to why you wish to turn off real time protection.

Is there some problem with real time protection? If so then the matter should be raised to whomever has admin rights to the computer. And you may get into trouble for attempting or doing such things yourself.

Be aware that Forum rules prohibit assistance with hacks, bypassing security measures, etc..

Even if the computer is yours there is no way, from this end, to know the truth of the matter.

Closing thread accordingly.
