Windows disappearing

I have a simple question which hopefully someone will know off. On my laptop,
an IBM Thinkpad, all of a sudden some time ago, all windows minimized
disappear from view - all together. I have to use the ALT + TAB key to loacte
and Restore them.

Can anyone please tell me what went wrong where and how to fix this problem.

Rock, thank you for the link. Before I do that, just like to find out if you
know what causes it, the diappearing minimized windows? And is there no fix
from within Win. XP itself.
