I want to setup Windows disc image backup and schedule it to run every night to an external drive.

I don't see the option to schedule it, other than if I do an incremental backup which isn't what I want.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Have you ever reinstalled an image from backup with success?
With Macrium? Yes, 100%.

Tested more than once on different systems, and in actual operation after a dead secondary drive.

I save my Images, either Full or Incremental, to my NAS.
All systems, all drives individually.

One of my SSDs died, reason unknown.

Put in a new drive, click click in Macrium...all 605GB recovered, exactly as it was at 4AM that morning when it ran the nightly Incremental.

I have a friend that says, "Microsoft backup has always worked great."
I should probably give Macrium a try since I can't figure out how to schedule the MS version.
I find Macrium to be more feature rich.

Multiple systems, multiple drives, all imaging to a single folder tree on my NAS.
Each drive and system on its own schedule.

And in my experience, it just works.
