This is a brand new drive that I have been using for about a week. It worked fine with USB 2.0 until today and then all the sudden, when I plug it in, Windows comes up and gives me the dread "USB Device Not Recognized" error. I have one computer that has USB 3.0 and when I plug it into it, it works fine. I have plugged it into 4 different computers on 2.0 and none of them can read it. Some give the "Not Recognized" error and one does nothing at all.

So my question is? Is the drive bad or or is there a software fix to this issue?

Hi there jungleexplorer,

As the drive does not work when attached to several systems, then there is something wrong with either the cable or the device.
You can try attaching it with a different USB cables. If the issue persists, then most probably there is something wrong with the enclosure. If the drive is under warranty, you can contact the place where you've got it from.

If that were the case, it would have not worked from day one. But it worked for a week one these same computers with no problem, so low USB 2.0 power is most likely not the problem.
