Hello,

The other day I posted a thread here about my PC not working after attempted overclock, found here. Since then I have seemed to resolve the issue by formatting all of my drives and reinstalling Windows, which I did yesterday. I used my PC all last night and it worked no problem, however when I turned it on this morning it gave me the option to 'Start Windows normally' or 'Repair Computer'. I tried to start it normally, however it gave me the 'Windows is Loading files' screen and a progress bar on the bottom. After that not much happened, so I tried to repair Windows, and it said to put my Windows 7 install disk in my CD drive, which I did. After several times of trial and error, I was finally able to try repair Windows. In my diagnosis and repair details, everything required to boot went just fine, however there was only one thing that failed, which was as follows:\

Root cause found:
--------------------------------------
A recent driver installation or upgrade may be preventing the system from starting.

Repair action: System files integrity check and repair
Result: Failed. Error code = 0x490
Time taken = 177607 ms

--------------------------------------

My system specs are as follows:

FX 8350 @ 4GHz
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 (Got it Thursday, tried to OC Friday, that's when it crashed)
CM Hyper 212 EVO
XFX R9 280
Kingston HyperX 8GB 1600Mhz
Corsair GS600
Mushkin Chronos 240GB SSD
WD Blue 1TB
Seagate Barracuda 3TB

Any help is much appreciated as to what driver could be causing the issue, which I personally assume it's the Gigabyte drivers. I've never had a problem like this.

Thanks,

Michael

First i would go and download an iso for windows,

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_install/where-can-i-download-windows-7-iso-i-have-a/7d964b05-2be9-4800-bc7f-3ca30356fc3d

then get the download tool and burn a disk :
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool

this way you will make sure you have a good copy of Windows,
You need to make sure you have a valid windows key for this to work,
you should then run windows updates and re-install all drivers for your motherboard.

I already have a key and a legit Windows install. I've tried this but it only adds another Windows 7 boot option on startup, and it seems none of them work and I'm not sure how to remove them via BIOS or startup.

Also I've done that several times. I got it working, reinstalled Windows 7, got all my drivers, and it seemed to work like a charm. When I try and boot again it comes up with the same error, therefore I'm 99% sure that it's my mobo drivers that's causing this.
