Windows Explorer browsing posix (openwrt) over network

Hi Guys,

I'm asking for help on this--I've set up a vm with virtualbox, where I'm running Windows Server 2016. I'm trying to use the vm to replace a mini-computer (Liva-X) performing the same task. I've got everything set up, but I'm having trouble getting the VM to browse my LAN the same way as both my desktop and my Liva-X.

Basically, on either of the latter two devices, I can browse my network using the UNC host name OR by typing in the ip along with the folder (i.e. \\192.168.0.5\mnt\sda1). This will work on both my Windows 10 desktop and the Server 2016 Liva-X install... but not on the fresh Server 2016 VM. It's driving me nuts. It's been so long since I tinkered with the old setup, I'm wondering if I've forgotten something. I know that I set up my samba shares to allow access to the \mnt\sda1, but the new install doesn't seem to want to see them. To make matters worse, the UNC host name recognition is unreliable as well, which is why I'd prefer to use IP address.

Anyone have any clues where I could start?
