Windows explorer has stopped working

Hey all so today when I booted up my comp after the login screen only the wallpaper showed and the little circle kept loading for 20seconds and then finally I got an error "windows explorer has stopped working" so I then chose the option to retsart windows explorer then after 5 seconds the taskbar and icons on the desktop showed then everything worked fine.

This is the first time this has happened to me. The only recent items that I have installed are nvidia beta drivers for bf3 and battlefield 3.

I am running windows 7 64-bit if it matters any ideas what might have caused this?

Has it happened more than once? If it's a one time occurance I always put it to magic. I've had that happen to me, its just a simple error. Shouldn't bother you much. I just leave it be as anything could cause it.

Check your event viewer and then check your system event log, it should be able to tell you what crapped out on login.

Doesn't say much other than it stopped interacting with windows and closed
