Windows Explorer not working, Help!!

Tried the search for solution button but the program closes. Here is what says is the problem:

Upgrade your browser with Windows Update to IE10 or 11 and see if that helps.
If not, scan for malware/viruses and then re-register the DLL's for IE.

Here are my generic spyware/virus removal instructions:

7): Install your preferred AV software: I use AVG or Microsoft Security Essentials for
personal computers and Kaspersky for work PC's. Also, remember “There is only one
Lord of the Ring, only one who can bend it to his will. And he does not share power.
–Gandalf.” He was also talking about anti-virus software too. DO NOT INSTALL
MULTIPLE COPIES OF ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE!!!
