Windows explorer problems after malware removal

I got some malware that apparently have messed up the windows explorer. I downloaded malwarebytes and it removed the malware.
However , after the removal of the malware, the sorting function is not working on windows explorer. I am clicking at the column but the files are not sorted.

Also, all program icons on my files are missing

Ran sfc /scannow but the issue was not fixed.
Tried to restore to an earlier restore point but it failed.

Can anyone suggest something sensible?

A repair Windows setup or a new Windows setup should clear things up. Malwarebytes can remove viruses but it won't reverse issues that the virus causes.
