Hello, I have an ASRock X48TurboTwins-WiFi motherboard and running Vista x64 home premium, and was having some troubles with RAM, but memtest86 didnt pick up any errors but QuickTech Pro found some extended memory errors, so i thought upgrading the BIOS would help. However, I downloaded and used ASRock's tool to flash the BIOS and the computer will boot up and i can get into the BIOS menu, it recognizes all of my hardware, and i made sure everything was the same as it was before i updated, but after i exit the BIOS menu, it will proceed to the booting process, but i will get the "Windows Error Recovery" message saying that windows has failed to boot. I also tried resetting the CMOS jumper after I updated the BIOS

what can i do from this point on to get my pc working again, this is starting to become a major headache. please help me

havent tried windows repair yet

where is the cmos battery at? I took the jumper off for a few minutes then put it on the 2 and 3 pins for a few minutes with the PSU unplugged and turned off.

thanks for the help. I removed the battery for a few minutes then put it back in and got it to boot up like normal again. I had to set the motherboard to recognize the HDD as 'enhanced' then 'AHCI' instead of IDE even though it was showing that it recognized the HDD that way, but once i did that it booted up and windows updated the IDE drivers i guess.
