Windows Faulty Hard Disk Notification

Earlier today I started getting this Windows notification telling me I had a faulty Hard Disk. So of course the first thing I do is make a back up of my hard drive, and then proceed to Google how to fix the issue without having to buy a replacement hard drive. One forum mentioned using HD Tools Pro to check to see if it really was a faulty hard disk and not some form of malware. When I ran the HD Tune check it gave me the attached screen, obviously this is not good but I would just like a professional opinion on how long I can expect my hard disk to last.

UPDATE: Well my hard drive failed the next day after posting this question, but I was mainly concerned about the red "Failed" notification in HD Tools and how severe that was compared to the yellow "Warning" indicators, because every other forum I read had a screen shot with only the yellow "Warning" indicators. But thank you for your answers.

Errors generally start small - but will increase over time. The hard drive might not totally die for a year....but in the mean time, you will probably lose data due to corrupted files, operating system locks, etc....I would suggest replacing the drive.

Unfortunately, dealing with failing HDDs it's not an exact science. Predicting exactly when the HDD will die is impossible, because it depends on a lot of factors like system configuration, usage, psu, damaged component, etc.
Great job with the fast backup reaction!
Another thing you can do after your backup is run as administrator chkdsk using Command prompt (CMD)
Type: chkdsk x: /r (where x is the drive letter assigned to your HDD). This will help you locate and fix any bad sectors on your drive.
It might not extend the life of the HDD, but hopefully it will stop Windows' notifications from appearing constantly.
However, I'd suggest you start looking for some replacements though!
