Hey there.
A year ago I encrypted about 2000 jpeg images in my External Hard disk using the default windows encryption tool. During that process I saved the recovery certificates on C drive. But 2 months ago I upgraded to windows 10 pro and did a clean format and during the process the certificate got deleted too. Now when I try to access those files they do not recognise my system which is obvious, I can't even decrypt them without the recovery certificate or key. Is there any way to decrypt those precious images or bypass the encryption without recovery???

No there is no way to get your data back without the certificate. Of course deleting the certificate doesn't mean you can't get it back. You can try to run data recovery...
