Hi all.

After I've had a problem with my Graphic Card, I don't know how.. but the Windows Firewall doesn't work anymore.
The service doesn't starts..
Error 0x8007042c when I try to start it manually.

In attachment you can see the error message.

I already did a thorough virus scansion with Avast and Malwarebytes: no threat found.
I followed the advice from the Microsoft website, (about the creation of the Repair.bat file of the services associated), but the problem remains..

Please, don't tell me to format the PC...
I've installed Windows 7 Pro 64bit (original, of course!) a few weeks ago and this problem seems a small, annoying nuisance.. but it is not so serious.

Any your advice is appreciated. thanks! :)

Solution
For windows firewall to work right it has what we call dependencies, these are other system files that need to load as a background task or process.

If you have been turning off the services in windows then, and it stopped working just simply roll back windows by a day or so using the backup and restore options of windows.

If you wish you can check if windows firewall is set to automatically run when windows starts.

Click on the search box and type: Services.msc.
Click on the search result to open up windows services loading and settings options.
Look for windows firewall and set it to auto run as the option.
Click on the dependences tab and verify that the other services it may be linked to listed are also set to run.
Apply the new...

P.S. I tried to roll back Windows by a day (a week).. but at the end of the process, it gives an error......

As I said the message means that although you have set windows firewall to auto start.
One of the dependencies listed in the windows fire wall dependencies tab, or each one listed needs to also be enabled by its name or process to automatic on start up of windows.

If you also have windows security centrer running it can be the cause of the firewall error. or if you have a third party firewall incorporated in your antivirus software. it can sometimes disable windows fire wall as it`s not a good idea to run two software firewalls at the same time it can lead to slow down and internet connection problems.
