started up my computer at work today to be greeted by utter gibberish. as it turns out windows is some how losing all of its fonts except for a few (as pictured above) and that is whats causing the font rendering issues. i have found that pasting a fresh set of system font's in to the font directory fixes the issue, however it was temporary as a restart messed everything up again. After that i tried a system restore to a point prior to these issues and it held for most of the day. however after doing a cold boot, when i arrived home from work, it had gone back to doing this.

CCleaner reported no issues with the registry's fonts, and running a virus scan with Win8.1's built in AV and Malwarebytes returned nothing.

Any solutions that wont require a reinstall of windows?

i work at a small firm, their is no IT department (I'm the most computer savvy there). we own our work computers rather than the company.
(guess i shouldn't have mentioned its use for work as that threw things off...)

edit...
ran "SFC /verifyonly" and it found issues so i'm running it with "/scannow" to see if that helps.
