G’day
I’ve changed some parts in my pc (CPU, RAM & motherboard). After everything’s been put together, windows freezes on the login screen and I’m unsure why. I’ve checked that all of the cables and everything are snug, no different from the last time I changed out parts. I noticed the CPU power cable has a different connection the motherboard but still fits, I searched other forums about that and people have said it’s fine. I’m just very confused at the moment. Pls help

cheers

CPU power cable isn't the issue if PC boots to the Windows login screen.

Most likely cause is if you haven't re-installed Windows since changing the motherboard.
Sometimes you can get away with not doing that, sometimes you can't.
I reinstalled windows 10 as I thought win11’s TPM 2.0 requirement might have something to do with the problem, it kept freezing until I turned off XMP.

What's your Bios version, as Bob.B asked ?
There are many potential updates for your motherboard.

If everything works with xmp off visit the mobo site for the proper bios.
Okay so, updating the BIOS fixed the problem with Windows freezing but, now I’m having problems with games just crashing/whole pc rebooting after a few minutes. Could it maybe be PSU related (NZXT C850)

List all the parts in this build... do it in vertical fashion so it's readable.

Also run this and post a link to the results page.

Check if you have the proper chipset driver.

Monitor the cpu and gpu temps while gaming.

Turn off xmp....test.
