Hello. I just bought a Samsung M3 portable 2TB usb 3.0 drive. When I first inserted it (into a usb 2 port) it worked fine. I installed the bundled software and no problem. I then decided to install windows ISO on it so that I could boot a new version of windows from it. Then two things started to happen:
1- If I booted from it, it would freeze in the boot up process and windows would not load
2. If i booted from my old hard drive, windows would load fine. but when i plug the ssd drive in, windows would freeze.

Any ideas?

Solution
1) USB 3.0 doesn't supported natively by pre-windows environment. That's why the computer freezes when you try to boot from it. Try to connect it to a USB 2.0 port instead and you'll be fine.

2) Try uninstalling the bundled software came with the External drive since now it's a bootable partition rather than usual drive.
