So Yesterday morning, I woke up to find my PC frozen up in an odd way. All programs were frozen, but the mouse and the taskbar seemed to work more or less fine. I turn off the pc and go about my day. Then, in the evening, it happens again. I notice it happens in a peculiar pattern of first any videos im watching freeze, then chrome itself fully freezes, then any applications I open or focus on freeze shortly after interacting with them. I'm able to open new programs, but it's 50/50 whether or not it gets anywhere before freezing up. After that freeze up, I shut down my pc again and update my graphics drivers (I should note that I recently got an RTX 3070, though I doubt it's related to my issues) and go on with my night. It happens again a few hours later. I update my bios and again go about my night. when i wake up this morning, it's frozen again. Does anyone have any ideas on what my problem is?

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition.

HDD's: make, model, capacity, how full?

Look in Reliability History and Event Viewer for error codes, warnings, or even informational events that correspond with the freezes.

Try running the builtin Windows Troubleshooters. The troubleshooters may find and fix something.

Also try "sfc /scannow" and "dism".

CPU AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
HDD 1: WD Blue WD20EZRZ, 2TB capacity, about 50% full, Windows is on this drive
HDD 2: Seagate st750lm022 hn-m750mbb 750GB, about 85% full

Reliability History only says an unexpected shutdown occured at the time of the freeze, event history doesn't have anything
sfc found nothing
