Hi, having some issues with windows so planning on a fresh windows install.

I understand that this will completely remove all files and programs etc on my C drive when I reformat. Bit of a pain ugh
Tried to repair/refresh but fails :(

Just wanted to ask about my D (Media) storage drive, is the data on it in any risk at all? Should I unplug the drive before install? Or will that cause more problems when I re-attach?
(Unfortunately I don't have another drive big enough to clone)
Or is there another backup option?
Or any other option I should try first?
(Have cleaned/checked registry, sfc/scannow, regrestry recycler etc to no avail)

Any advice?
Cheers
John

Solution
Data should be fine, but to be on the safe side I would unplug it and then plug back in once the installation is complete.

Remember to backup; there is no telling when that drive will fail!
