[SOLVED] Windows Generic Sound files need to change

I'm using an app that has a way of notifying a user from time to time, unfortunately unable to change the system sound file path it addresses; Therefore I'd like to have an insight whether or not it is possible to change the sound file itself. The name of the file is Windows Generic Notification, something like brrnnggg! constantly happening.

Any help with that? I heard one has to tamper with registry for that, tried changing file in C://Windows/media to absolutely no avail.

When you changed or tried to change the audio file what file extension was used?

All sorts of Sound setting for system/Windows events.

Control Panel > Sound > Change system sounds

And do not tamper with the registry.....
