I am trying to speed up a computer for a workplace and they are using Windows XP because they are running some legacy software. When I turned it on for the first time, I saw that the Windows Genuine Advantage tool said that the copy of Windows was not legit, so I used the Microsoft product key changer to enter the product key on the PC case, assuming that maybe someone made a typo using the original installation.
After the restart, Windows Genuine Advantage no longer says that Windows in not legit, but now it comes of with a failure message. Is this because the Windows XP services have been disabled or is there some other reason for this?
P.S. As far as I know, there have been no changes to the system since the original purchase from the manufacturer.
