Windows home premium vs professional

I have windows 7 pro and have just purchased a pc with windows home premium, can the license from home premium be used to load windows 7 pro

no not on the two machine with the same license, only if you have a volume license key

No keys are specific to the version of windows that they are made for (ie. premium needs a premium key and Pro needs a Pro key) -- they can be used for either 32 bit or 64 bit interchangeably but not for different versions.
