Windows Home Server has this nice limitation where the MAIN drive's storage space must be > 80 GB. I have a 40 GB main drive and 240 GB hard drive 3.5" connected through a hard drive enclosure USB to the laptop. IT looks just like an external hard drive. Is there no way to install windows home server? It complains I don't have over 40 GB... Thank you!

Still not edit feature working? Bah... Just seen it was a laptop - unless it's a skinny enclosure with a 2.5" drive in I'll just consider myself a numpty and get me coat...

You must have 80 GB or better in the main drive and USB drives can't be connected while installing WHS. You can get any size 2.5 in. laptop drive over 80GB and swap out the internal drive and you'll be up and running. Once you have WHS installed, add in as many USB drives as you have slots for and WHS will allow you to either add them as server storage or use them for backup.
