(Pardon the double post)

I don't know how many of you had a chance to read this article from Tom's Hardware. http://www.tomshardware.com/howto/20050909/index.html

Well, I've read this article about 3 times now and I think I'm either missing something or a step is missing from this this article.

I can't get the USB drive to boot up Windows; it does boot DOS, since I formatted the disk as the instructions suggested.

Has anyone gotten this to work according to the instructions on this article?

Thanks.

Does your board support booting from usb drives? Not all motherboards will do this.

Yes, it does.
It actually boots into DOS, but won't boot the GUI part.

I think there's something missing for Windows to boot, it boots into a CLI because COMMAND.COM exists on the drive, but it never brings up the GUI for Windows XP.

Anyone got any tips on this as i have the same problem,

followed the instructions but it only boots into DOS..

I don't own a USB hd, so the following are just educated guesses.

Make sure USB is enabled in your BIOS everywhere.
See if the Boot Order (BIOS again) can be managed to help this situation.
